Mumbai: Slab collapses in KEM Hospital

Slab collapses in Mumbai’s KEM Hospital’s dialysis department. As per Dr Avinash Supe, Dean, KEM Hospital, 2 patients have suffered minor scratches and the part of dialysis unit is shifted to alternate place for patient services

Spekaing to My Medical Mantra, Dr Avinash Supe, Dean, KEM Hospital, “Two patients had minor scratches.  They are stable.  We are shifting part of dialysis unit to alternate place for patient services.   Dialysis services will start today in other area and will be restored in next 3 to 4 days.”

Speaking to My Medical Mantra, Dr Nivrutti Hase, Prof and Head of nephrology department  said. “The slab collapsed in the dialysis department on the second floor. The incident took place on Wednesday at around 8: 30 pm. Fortunately, there are no injuries. There are 8-9 beds in the dialysis department. In a day, around 2-25 patients undergo dialysis. But, this incident occurred at night. So, there were no major injuries. Since the building is old, the building was supposed to be repaired. But, before that the incident occurred.”
