- An infuriated mob of 50 odd people barged into the Sangli Government Hospital.
- The mob was livid with rage, as a woman who had delivered a baby a day earlier, had died during the course of the treatment.
- They also staged a protest inside the hospital premises and surrounded the doctors demanding immediate action.
The patient, named Rehanna had delivered a healthy baby through a normal delivery.
While speaking to My Medical Mantra Dr Pallavi Saple, Dean of Sangli Government hospital said, “Rehanna, had deliver a baby a day prior in our hospital and she was undergoing treatment. During the course of the treatment, suddenly, a massive bleeding started. We tried to do our best to save her, but she died.”
Dr Saple further added, “Initially her relatives were angry. But then we explained them about what happened and they later understood it and were placated. But suddenly in the morning, a mob barged into the hospital and started ransacking the hospital.”
What was surprising is that the people in the mob were not related to the patient. A police complaint has been filed against the people who were involved in creating a ruckus in the hospital.
