MMM: What is your fitness regime like?

Amyra: When I’m in Mumbai, I attend dance classes thrice-a-week for two hours. I do cardio (interval running) before I hit the weights. I do weight training every day. Whenever I get a chance, I practice gymnastics for flexibility and twice in a week, I go for swimming.

When I’m in Hyderabad, I jog for an hour at the KBR Park. On weekends, I do weight training in my hotel gym.

MMM: Can you elaborate on your diet?

Amyra:  I don’t put any extra salt in my food and I don’t eat rice or drink milk at all.  For breakfast — I have egg white omelette with onions, tomatoes, chillies and mushrooms with roasted sweet potato. For lunch — I have fish (salmon/ rawas/ pomfret / john dory) with salad (lettuce, rocket leaves, cherry tomatoes, avocado). For dinner– I have tofu with jawahar roti or tomato soup with brown bread and two boiled eggs. I snack on banana, watermelon, apples, almonds and dates.

MMM: Are you calorie conscious?

Amyra: No, I’m not calorie conscious, but I know what to eat and what to avoid. I avoid desserts only because of the sugar and dairy content, as I am aware about its long term effects on my body.

MMM: What is your cheat food and how often do you cheat?

Amyra: Dal makhani and garlic naan! I eat it once-in-a-month.

MMM: How do you take care of your skin?

Amyra: Thrice-a-day, I wash my face. I make sure, I remove every speck of makeup, post my shoots. Clinique’s makeup remover, Kama Ayurveda Skin Cream, Body Shop Vitamin E under eye cream and Flutibact gel for pimples/acne are the products, I genuinely swear by. My advice to people is to drink lots of water. As more than the products, I swear by water. I drink 2 litres of water every day and that’s the trick to good, healthy glowing skin.

MMM: What is your hair care routine like?

Amyra: I wash my hair every alternate day. For my hair, I use Tresemme Split serum and Moroccan Oil. My hair tends to dry out due to the amount of heat used on it every day, as it gets blow dried, tonged and straightened, depending on my shoots. So, I use hair masks from Toni & Guy and Kerestase, on every Sunday, when I get time to relax. Twice-a-month, I also go for hair spas at Dessange.
