Eman Ahmed, once the world’s heaviest woman, weighing 500kgs passed away on Monday morning owing to various comorbid factors like ‘heart disease and kidney dysfunction’, according to a statement issued by the Burjeel Hospital where she was currently undergoing treatment.
She was at the hospital under the supervision of about 20 doctors from different specialties from the time she went to United Arab Emirates (UAE) for her medical treatment. She had celebrated her 37th birthday just a week ago.
The doctors at the hospital said, “Our prayers and heartfelt condolences go out to her family.”
She was brought to Mumbai’s Saifee hospital for weight-loss treatment and then went to Burjeel hospital in May 2017.
While speaking to My Medical Mantra, Dr. Muffazal Lakdawala , the doctor who treated her at Saifee Hospital said, “It is very sad to know. May god bless her soul.”
