Vashi: Women’s wing inaugurated at Hiranandani Hospital

This week, marked International Women’s Day, which celebrated the empowerment of women. On this note, a women’s wing has been set up at the hospital

  • It will be situated on the 4th floor of the multi-specialty hospital; the wing has a set-up of 15 beds, available on a single, double and triple occupancy basis.
  • Managed by all women staff, each room on this wing is designed as a comfortable arrangement which also caters to patients’ attendant’s accommodation.

The ward was inaugurated by 65-year-old, Jijabai Tulshiram Malkar, who had recently donated her kidney to her 43-year-old son, along with Dr Vandana Gawdi, senior Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, Hiranandani Hospital and Dr Sameer Kulkarni, Facility Director at the hospital in the presence of doctors, nurses, other hospital staff and patients.

Speaking about the new wing, Dr Kulkarni, said, “At least 40% of patients admitted at our hospital are women; thus the need for a dedicated wing for women was only a progressive step. This wing, which we proudly unveiled on International Women’s Day, will be fully managed by female staff.”
