With a new heart, Krishna heads back to school

Krishna Sadgir, an 8-year-old boy from Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, has gone back to school with a new heart and a smile on his face on Wednesday, June 20. Today is Krishna’s first day of the school, after he had undergone a heart transplant surgery in September 2017

With a new heart, Krishna heads back to school

“Krishna is hale and hearty now. He is back on his feet again. He plays like any normal 8-year-old child would. Throughout the day, he plays with his friends in the garden. Sometimes, I fear, that he might have a breathing problem again. But, by God’s grace nothing has happened,” says the mother of Krishna.

Krishna Sadgir’s mother, Gauri, is very happy. She could not hide her emotions while speaking to My Medical Mantra. There is a sigh of relief on her face, as her son Krishna, is healthy at last.

Wednesday, was Krishna’s first day in his new school. Like every other kid, he was also very enthusiastic to join the school back. Krishna had undergone a heart transplant in last September and after almost nine months he has joined school again.

While speaking to My Medical Mantra, Gauri Sadgir, Krishna’s mother said, “After the heart transplant surgery he was hospitalised for a month. We had to take at most care of his health. So, now we are living in Titwala, Thane district. Now he is fully recovered, but we have to take him to the doctor once every month.”

Krishna was diagnosed from cardiomyopathy in 2016, owing to which he had to take a break from the school.

Krishna’s father, Ganesh Sadgir, a retired soldier from the armed forces, had started crowdfunding to raise money for Krishna’s treatment. My Medical Mantra had also appealed to people to help Krishna’s father to raise money for his treatment.
