If you happen to meet Dr Apratim Goel, you will be pleased with her enigmatic smile and flawless skin. She swears by her fitness regime and informed, “I grew up seeing my mom doing yoga every day. Later, I suffered from lower back pain and decided to opt for yoga.”

She added, “I have a yoga trainer with whom I do yoga, 3 to 4 times a week. I also do stretches and free-hand exercises along with surya namaskar, deep breathing, anulom-vilom and kapalbhati for 5 minutes, every day. My trainer makes me do lots of variations to break the monotony. I look forward to my morning exercise. My yoga teacher has taught me exercises, that anyone with desk job can do. This takes care of the spondylitis and neck stiffness. Also, I will take up walking soon.”

Dr Goel who is a vegetarian, believes in following a healthy and a balanced diet. “My breakfast consists of brown bread toast, 1 egg omelette and tea with minimal sugar. My lunch is a handful of almonds, walnuts and pistachio with honey. I soak them overnight in water. In the morning, I peel the almonds and have this dry fruit bowl with honey. Around 4:00 pm, I have a fruit. My dinner is around 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm which is of of 1 roti, 2 veggies and a cup of yogurt.”

She signs off by urging people to follow a healthy diet and a proper fitness routine.
