Dr-Sandip-Yadav

My Medical Mantra’s campaign #VoteForHealth focuses on various health issues which are very important for the well-being of the common man. On which the government must focus during and after the election.

The biggest festival of the largest democracy in the world has begun, and people are coming out from their homes to cast their vote.

My Medical Mantra speaks with prominent doctors to know what is essential in the field of healthcare and medicine, doctors give their opinion regarding the changes they would like to see from the government.

While speaking to My Medical Mantra, Dr Sandeep Yadav, Maharashtra Association of Practicing Pathologist and Microbiologist (MAPPM), said, “Only a pathologist can hand over diagnostic test reports. Doctors begin to treat the patients on the basis of the these reports. But there is a shortage of pathologist in the state. Only 3,500 pathologists are registered in Maharashtra.”

Dr Yadav added, “Bogus pathologists are increasing in the state. In the future, we won’t find genuine pathologists if this continues. The state government should pay attention to this and curb illegal medical practices.”

He further said, “Government should look into this matter to curb corruption in the pathology field and put in efforts to increase the number of pathologists. The health sector should be improved through public-private partnerships so that we can give patients better facilities.”

He concluded saying that earlier the government has allowed any person to hand over the test reports, so now the governments should take steps to rebuild trust in doctor-patient relationships.
