The support was given against Uttarakhand High Court’s order on Clinical Establishment Act under which the High Court had made it mandatory for the cancellation of licences of those hospitals who have not registered under the act.

Uttarakhand HC on this Friday dismissed the review petition of the IMA, against 2018 in which the court had ordered the state government to seal all the medical clinics which are not registered under the Clinical Establishment Act and had made it mandatory for doctors to prescribe generic medicines.

Going against this order, IMA now wants the state’s intervention. IMA Uttarakhand has appealed to all the state IMA’s to observe a solidarity day in support.

Dr Meenakshi Deshpande, Secretary of IMA Pune, said, “The Pune branch has observed solidarity day by wearing black badges during our work. Today is the fifth day of IMA Uttarakhand of their protest against the act.”
