Now, fitness has become a way of life. People are aware of things which they were not aware before. So, with an aim to pave the way for long term well being, the portal helps in spreading, promoting and encouraging a healthy living. Through all its efforts, medical breakthroughs, fitness and diet mantras, we have carved a niche audience.

We broke, others followed:

  • #SaveAaradhya: Our campaign to save Aaradhya Mule, a four-year-old girl suffering from an end-stage heart disease, was instrumental in bringing awareness on organ donation in the country in limelight. The #SaveAaradhya hashtag was trending in different parts of the country including metro cities like Mumbai, Chennai, Pune, Nagpur. We were the first to report on her family’s struggle to get donor heart and gather funds for her operation. While we did series of stories on her deteriorating heart condition, we decided to have a social media campaign too.

Affordable series:  Globally, we have been looking for ways to make transplants affordable for one and all. In order to make it affordable, My Medical Mantra has started a series that robes in every stakeholder from government to common man to bridge the gap between the donors, recipients and the hospitals.

  • #FightObesity: A month long campaign was held where health camps were organised to reach out to rural population. Our campaign has now led state government to start obesity clinic in government medical colleges. It has also decided to include obesity in the MBBS curriculum.
  • #TaxFreePad:  It was our social media campaign along with NGOs to request central government to exclude sanitary pads from Goods and Services Tax (GST).
  • #Mental health: To spread awareness regarding the mental health, We have published stories depression, anxiety conditions, schizophrenia, and many more.
  • Since last few years, medical tourism is growing rapidly in cities like Mumbai and Pune. A Large number of patients come from abroad for the treatment of heart and liver transplants, kidney and many more diseases in Maharashtra. Also, late Eman Ahmed, once ‘world’s heaviest woman’, took treatment in Mumbai. My Medical Mantra had exclusive stories which were followed by other media houses. My Medical Mantra also pressed upon policy formation for foreign patients. After which, Dr Deepak Sawant, the state health minister decided to prepare a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), with the inputs from the hospitals.
  • Asian Heart Institute (AHI), one of India’s leading heart hospitals, stirred controversy on cut price in medical fraternity. The hospital put up hoardings that say – ‘Honest Opinion. No Commission to Doctors’ – at strategic locations across the city. Our extensive coverage made the state government form a committee to form a policy to stop cut practice in health care.
  • Not only did we focus on human healthcare, but were on the forefront when it came to animal healthcare. Our stories about the donkey that underwent amputation and #Champion, the dog whose genitals and paws were cut, garnered a lot of attention.

My Medical Mantra’s special columns include: ‘Fitness Mantra’, details about a particular doctor’s fitness and diet regimen. Another column, ‘Master of Medicine’ column throws a light on the career of a particular doctor.
