After much buzz about Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao’s ‘Mental Hai Kya’ getting a title change, the makers have finally decided to revise the title to ‘Judgemental Hai Kya.’
According to reports, members of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), along with the film’s producers and leading lady, Kangana Ranaut had an elaborate discussion on Thursday, June 27 evening, where they talked about various issues, especially the film’s title.
The title was changed after complaints by the Indian Psychiatric Society and the Indian Medical Association to the Central Board of Film Certification.
Considering that it irked the Indian Psychiatric Society (IPS) for its allegedly ‘insensitive’ nature, it was collectively decided that the film will get a new title, keeping in mind people who battle mental illness.
Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming movie Mental Hai Kya will be renamed after Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) found its title “a bit too harsh”, confirmed the actress.
In a press statement about the title change, Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms acknowledged “the sensitivity attached to the issue of mental health” and reiterated their “intention of not offending or hurting anyone’s sentiments”. Judgementall Hai Kya has been cleared by the censor board with a UA certificate and minor changes.
Reports state that the word ‘mental,’ which was also used in multiple sequences, will be muted in the final edit.
