As the administration is gearing up for conducting the elections in a free and fair manner. The political parties in Maharashtra are reaching out to citizens with soaps and promises. On Tuesday, the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) released its manifesto for Maharasthra state elections.

Though BJP and Shiv Sena are contesting the election in the alliance, both the parties have released their separate manifestos.

What BJP’s manifesto promises:

  • Clean drinking water to all by 2022
  • Cataract-free Maharashtra in two years
  • 15,000 state-of-the-art healthcare centres will be set-up
  • Construction of AIIMS in Maharashtra
  • A cancer-care facility at the district level

While speaking at the event in Mumbai, BJPs working president, and former Union Health Minister, J P Nadda, said, “We are working on the concept of developing a comprehensive healthcare model. Preventive, promotive and curative. At 30, every citizen in the state will be screened for non-communicable diseases like hypertension and diabetes. We are also focusing on TB and leprosy cases.”

“This year, Maharashtra has jumped to the third position in the healthcare index. The day is not far when Maharashtra will become number one in the country,” added Nadda.
