National Voluntary Blood Donation Day is celebrated on 1st October in India every year. The theme for this year’s National Voluntary Blood Donation Day is – “At least Donate Once In A Lifetime”.

In Mumbai, 3.12 lakh blood units were collected through 1,950 blood donation camp during 2018-19.

Mumbai Districts AIDS Control Society is celebrating National Voluntary Blood Donation Day by felicitating centurian blood donors and community organization to appreciate and express gratitude towards their selfless humanitarian act.

The event will be chaired by Dr Ashwini Joshi, Hon. Addl. Municipal Commissioner, in presence of Hon. Dy. Municipal Commissioner, Sunil Dhamane on 1st October 2019 at Committee Hall No. 1, 2nd Floor, MCGM Office Building.

31 such donors, 6 organizations and 4 Red Ribbon Club from NSS colleges will be felicitated. The event will highlight the importance of voluntary blood donation by all eligible adults & being a regular donor to ensure availability of safe, adequate quantity of blood & components for all the needy patients in the city of Mumbai.
