The purpose of the ‘Arogya Manthan’ is to provide a platform for all the crucial stakeholders of PM-JAY to meet and discuss the challenges faced in the implementation of the scheme in the past year and to forge new understanding and pathways towards improving implementation.

The key recommendations of Arogya Manthan will be presented on the occasion.

While speaking at the event, PM Narendra Modi said, “Ayushman Bharat has been successful due to the devotion of those who have worked hard to make sure that scheme reaches to the poor. We have learnt a lot during the past year. We have word hard to remove myths and misconceptions.”

A new mobile application of Ayushman Bharat was also launched by the Prime Minister at the venue. He also launched the ‘Ayushman Bharat Start-Up Grand Challenge’ and will release a commemorative stamp on the occasion.

He added, “We have discussed how to build quality and capacity building during the Arogya Manthan program. A few states have given their suggestions and we need to work towards marking the system more efficient with state-of-the-art technology. It’s our duty to make sure that no poor and needy will be deprived of medical facilities.”

The Prime Minister also interacted with select beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY. He visited the exhibition on PM-JAY which will showcase the journey of the scheme over the past year.

PM Modi further said, “Healthy Bharat 4 main pillars – Preventive and affordable healthcare, efficient supply-side and Poshan Abhiyan. Ayushman Bharat is strengthening preventive and affordable healthcare in India.”

Speaking about the achievement of this scheme, he said, “More than 50 per cent hospitals empanelled with government belong to the private sector.11 lakh new job opportunities are likely to be created in the coming years with Ayushman a Bharat. We are working hard to upgrade the Ayushman Bharat Health system. We need to work on technology up-gradation to make this scheme effective.”

Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 23rd, 2018.
