Veteran Bollywood actor Vinod Khanna passes away in Mumbai due to cancer

Veteran Bollywood actor and a sitting Member of Parliament (MP) from Gurudaspur, Vinod Khanna, 70, breathed his last in Mumbai’s Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital on Thursday morning.

In the statement issued to the press from the hospital administration, the authorities informed, “Veteran actor and Member of Parliament Mr. Vinod Khanna, who was admitted, to the Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital breathed his last at 11.20 am, due to advanced bladder carcinoma.”

Bladder cancer begins when cells in the urinary bladder start to grow uncontrollably. As more cancer cells develop, they can form a tumor and spread to other areas of the body.

Sources say, actor Vinod Khanna, was hospitalised in April first week, due to severe dehydration but was later said to be stable and responding positively to treatment.

“Doctors and family were expecting a recovery, but somehow the condition escalated and he succumbed today,” said a hospital source.

A photo of Vinod Khanna, with his son and wife went viral, during his stay at the hospital. Khanna look weak and frail in the photo which his many fans getting concerned for his health.

As Vinod Khanna’s death news was officially announced by hospital, Veteran singer Asha Bhosle tweeted, “Very sad to hear about Vinod Khannaji. A decent man and a star till the very end. My condolences to his family.”

Twitter flooded with tribute to the legendary actor
