Three day Asian EUS Congress 2017 ends with a bang

The final day of the Asian EUS Conference ended on a high note with Dr Vinay Dhir, the organising secretary of the conference and the Director of Clinical Research and Head of the Endosonography , BIDS (Baldota Institute of Digestive Sciences), taking the opportunity to thank all the delegates and audience members present at the event.

“I wish to take the opportunity to thank everyone for making this event a success,” Dr Dhir said.

The three day conference was organised by Asian EUS Group (AEG) in association with BIDS.

The conference saw the participation over 450 delegates from 8 countries across Asia and held special sessions like live surgeries, pancreatic cyst, pancreatic-biliary diagnosis, AEG research outcome and consensus and many more. It held debates like women’s stature in the field of endoscopy. Actor Nandita Das was the chief guest the session.

Dr Amit Maydeo, organising chairman of the conference and the director of Baldota Institute of Digestive Sciences (BIDS), Global Hospital, Mumbai had said on the day one that such conferences help in educating young endoscopists.

“The idea of the conference is to learn from different experts from across the world. India has been one of the leaders in EUS. I was the first to start this technique as a curious attempt. Now it has become an indispensable part of diagnosis and treatment,” Dr Maydeo said.
