This NGO gives love and affection to HIV patients

Snehalayaa NGO is diligently working since last 30 years for the upliftment of the society. Efforts are being been made to get HIV affected, sex workers and orphan children’s life, back on track


  • If a person is HIV affected. Then, the society’s point of view towards him changes. Also, the family and relatives don’t look over the patients.
  • But, an NGO Snehalayaa is giving hope and help to these patients since last 30 years.

  •  NGO’s founder, Professor Girish Kulkarni established it in the year 1998. Efforts are being been made to get lives of HIV affected, sex workers and orphan children back on track.

Speaking to My Medical Mantra, NGO’s founder, Professor Girish Kulkarni said, “Since last 30 years, this NGO is working for HIV patients, sex workers and orphan children. Also, the HIV patients are rehabilitated there. This NGO not only works for people. But, it works with people. People respond to us due to this.”

He added, “Through this NGO, we have launched a project ‘Himmatgram’ for the HIV patients. Through this, the patients are trained to do farming, dairy and son on along with employment.”

This Ahmednagar-based NGO’S Caring Friend’s Hospital For Research Centre is also established. In this hospital, the patients undergo checkups and treatment for free. “These patients’ do not get jobs easily. Leaving the hospital doctors, all the workers are HIV affected. We create many awareness programmes through this NGO. We wish to work more for the HIV affected,” said Kulkarni.

Hari Narke, who visited Snehalayaa tweeted, “Snehalayaa NGO takes care of orphan children, HIV affected females education and health. Girish Kulkarni is doing this since last 30 years. This mega project facilitates around 5,000 people.”
