Maha: Medical interns likely to go on indefinite strike

Medical interns all over the state are going on strike from July 22, 2019, in demand for an increase of stipend. Today compared to other states, Maharashtra has the least amount of stipend.  This is a poor response of the government to the doctors of society. ‘More doctors should be included in the council committee’

There has been a tussle between government and the doctors regarding the National Medical Commission (NMC) Bill. The NMC bill isn’t a good one according to the doctors and the IMA is strongly opposing it. It was told that there will be 25 members in the council committee for the doctors. 20 members are elected by the government and 5 members are the doctors.
