Government mulls ban over import of oxytocin

In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, Anupriya Patel, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare said there is a proposal to prohibit the import of the oxytocin and its formulations for human use and also to regulate and restrict the oxytocin formulations for human use, the government has considered a proposal. In this regard a public notice seeking comments and suggestions of stakeholders has been posted in by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO)
