Though, she talks but she is still in a state of shock,” informed her father

  • Kolhapur’s Standard 8 th student Vijaya Chougule, was punished by her teacher and was asked to do 500 sit-ups, as she forgot to carry her notebook.
  • After 300 sit-ups she collapsed on the ground.
  • Immediately, she was rushed to Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Government Medical College, Kolhapur. Now, for the further treatment, she has been shifted to the KEM Hospital.

Her father Nivrutti Chougule is constantly by her side at KEM Hospital in ward no 4(A) where she has been admitted and is under the observation of the neurologist.

Speaking to My Medical Mantra, Nivrutti Chougule, Vijaya’s hapless father said, “We immediately took her to Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Government Medical College in Kolhapur. But, there were no appropriate facilities. Now, for the further treatment, we shifted her to the KEM Hospital.

He added, “Three to four doctors examined her. Doctors have performed various tests on her. We will get the reports on Sunday. After which, the doctors will decide about the treatment to be given to her.”

According to her father, “Vijaya talks but she cannot walk. She is shattered after the shocking incident. And is trying to gather herself and stand on her feet. We are trying to talk to her which will help her to overcome this unfortunate incident. There is no strength in her feet. It seems that she has lost her self-confidence.”

To inquire about Vijaya’s health, My Medical Mantra contacted Dr Avinash Supe, Dean, KEM Hospital. He said, “Her condition is improving. Currently, she is undergoing treatment. Some medical tests have been done. After the reports, we will decide about her treatment.”
