Renowned Ayurvedic expert, P Y Vaidya Khadiwale passes away

  • P Y Vaidya Khadiwale, a well-known Ayurvedic expert died on Thursday. He was 85 year-old. Apart from being a brilliant Ayurvedic expert, he was also a man who carried out many social works in his life.
  • He worked with Indian Air Force for around 17 years. He retired in the year 1968. Then, he started Hari Parshuram Vidyalay in Pune. He took many efforts in the initial period. But slowly, people from across the world started coming to take his medicines.

He faced difficulty in procuring herbs to make herbal medicines, as the plants have been shrinking rapidly. Since then, he also focused on production of these medicinal herbs.

In order to spread awareness on blood donation and to promote the cause of blood donation, he started Jan Kalyan Rakt Pedhi, the first private blood bank in Maharashtra. He worked towards promoting eye donation in Pune.

The city residents and others who used take medicines from him, grieved over his death. His last rights will be performed in Pune
