Raigad: Bus plunges into 200 feet gorge with 40 people on-board


  • A rescue operation is underway for a mini-bus which fell down a deep gorge in Raigad.
  • There were 40 people on the bus who comprised of students and professors from Dopoli-Konkan Agriculture College.
  • The bus fell into a gorge at Ambenali Ghat.
  • A National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team has rushed to the spot of the accident.
  • 15 ambulances are present at the site of the mishap.

Raigad Police Public Relations Officer, Police Inspector Kundan Gavde said, “40 students and professors were on-board. The passengers were travelling from Kolhapur to Mahabaleshwar. 32 people are reportedly injured.”


Speaking to My Medical Mantra, Inspector General Police Konkan Range, Naval Bajaj, said, “We have not yet received any information about the casualties. Out team is conducting a search and rescue operation.”
