Multitudes of devotees gather daily at the Sai Baba Temple complex to pay their respects his legacy. They have immense faith in him, and put their trust in him to watch over them and fulfil their wishes

One among such ardent Sai devotes, is Shivpriya Kaushik. She has visited Shirdi Sai Baba temple over 350 times. To mark the centenary year of Sai Baba, she has made a decision to donate a kidney to a poor person who suffering from an end-stage kidney ailment and who is in an urgent need of an organ transplant.

Although, Shivapriya has expressed her wish on the social media, she has put forth certain conditions before donating her organ.

  • The recipient must be a resident of Shirdi.
  • The recipient should be a follower of Sai Baba devotee.
  • The recipient should be below 34 years of age.
  • After recovering from kidney transplant operation he/she should visit Shirdi Sai temple every day to thank Sai Baba.

While speaking to My Medical Mantra, Shivapriya says, “Those who will contact me will have to accept my conditions first. I will prepare chits with the recipient name and place all the chits on Sai Baba’s Samadhi. Then, I will let the temple priest choose one of the chits.”

Shivapriya is an ardent Sai Baba devotee. In the past few years, she has donated blood 30 times and has also taken contributed to society, by acts such as providing a Haemoglobin machine to the Sainath Hospital in Shirdi.

She further adds, “I am donating my kidney with a complete faith on Sai Baba.”

Shivapriya is works with a private company in Pune, Maharashtra and visits Shirdi temple every Saturday and Sunday.

While speaking to My Medical Mantra, Dr S K Mathur, Secretary General of the Zonal Transplant Coordination Centre, Mumbai, said,  “This is an unrelated transplant. She has to undergo all the necessary legal formalities before donating the organs. Once she completes the legal formalities, the authorisation committee will take a final call.”
