Pune: NGOs donate hearing aid to 6,000 children and senior citizens

All these needy people had come from 18 districts of Maharashtra. Tata trust, Pawar Public charitable trust, Thakarasi group, R V S Education and Charity Foundation, Mumbai and Mahatma Gandhi Seva Sangh Apang Punarvasan Kendra, Pune were the organisations who had arranged the program.

An initiative taken up by different organisations saw a huge foot fall in Pune on Friday. Chhatrapati Shivaji Krida Sankul in Balewadi area of Pune witnessed an event where a hearing aid machine was distributed to around 6,000 people.

All these needy people had come from 18 districts of Maharashtra. Tata trust, Pawar Public charitable trust, Thakarasi group, R V S Education and Charity Foundation, Mumbai and Mahatma Gandhi Seva Sangh Apang Punarvasan Kendra, Pune were the organisations who had arranged the program.

Organisers said that such kind of an event they are arranging in different parts Maharashtra for many years. With this initiative, thousands of needy have been benefited till date.

While speaking to My Medical Mantra,  Supriya Sule, a Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MP, said, “We are extremely happy to share the news that 4,846 individuals were fitted hearing aids in the time span of 8 hours. Setting a world record and this is recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records. By the end of the day total 6,000 students and senior citizens were fitted with hearing aids.”
