Pune: IMA arranges literary and cultural festival which will unite doctors with their long lost hobbies

Indian Medical Association (IMA) has decided to organise a literary and cultural festival of all the doctors. When an attack on doctors has been a worry for doctors the gathering is designed to relax the doctors community


The aim is to encourage, endorse and promote the literary and artistic skills of the doctors for their own relaxation, to create a network the Doctors, who have writing and artistic skill, to make them aware about the problems faced by the doctor’s community in India at present and to uphold the spirit of unison and integrity amongst the Doctors Community.

The IMA Pune and IMA Dhule will be hosting this gathering which has been named as ‘Muktangan 2018’. programmes in Muktangan 2018 will be presented in a large Pendall and 6 halls in Dr D.Y Patil Medical College.

The program includes folk dance, drama, granth dindi, movies and short films. Movie quiz, antakshari, classical dance, street play, book exhibition, photography, and painting. The program is only for IMA members and any IMA member can participate in any event and program.

Dr Ravi Wankhedkar, national president IMA, said, “We have been fighting for various issues troubling and creating a problem in our profession. Now, its time for doctors to unite for our long lost hobbies. The cultural, aesthetic hobbies of ours not only enrich our personal lives but also illuminates our own health. We at IMA have resolved to utilize these hobbies to brighten our professional image.”

Dr Meenakshi Deshpande, Secretary at IMA Pune, said, “When things like attacks on doctors are increasing, it is necessary that we get relaxed. This activity will unite doctors and will refresh their lost hobbies. We are happy that Pune has got an opportunity to host this kind of activity for all doctors from India.”
