Pune: Farmer dies due to bee attack

The 50-year-old farmer jumped into the water to save himself from the bee attack. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he died later on during the course of his treatment

You must have heard a number of cases, where bee attack mountaineers on their treks. But in Mawal tehsil of Pune district, a farmer working in his field died due to multiple bee stings.

While speaking to My Medical Mantra, Forest officer Sanjay Marane, of Sirocha -Wadgaon forest range said, “Dnyanoba Lagman, a farmer living in a small village, has lost his life due to a bee attack. This is a very unfortunate incident. The bees attacked him while he was working in his farm.”

He further added, “We are trying to take precautionary measures after the fateful incident. We are trying to find out a solution for this.”

How to save yourself from a bee attack

  • Cover your body with a long cloth, when you see bees nearby.
  • Wear a full sleeve shirt and pants while going for a trek.
  • Admit the person who has been stung to the nearest hospital immediately.
