Stress is normal part of life that can either help us learn and grow or can cause us significant problems. If we don’t take action, the stress response can create or worsen health problems. Prolonged, uninterrupted, unexpected, and unmanageable stresses are the most damaging. Owing to which, in December 2016, central government launched ‘NO More Tension’, a mobile app to reduce the stress. But, this app is still not known to the common people as well as the psychologists. Here, we tell you how the app works.
In this app, the information about, what is stress? Causes and symptoms, stress meter is given. A person will have to answer 10 questions which have to be answered in ‘yes’ or ‘no’. The questions are based on personal and professional life. To keep stress at bay, Information about yogasanas, songs and meditation is also provided in the app.
“This is the central government’s app. A few months ago, the centre inaugurated it to help people reduce their stress. It is a good initiative. More and more people should download this app,” said Dr Satish Pawar, Director of HealthServices.
Dr Sagar Karia, a consulting psychiatrist at Sion Hospital said, “The level of stress is increasing amongst people. For which, these kind of apps are important. I wasn’t aware that the central government has launched such app. After downloading the app, I came to know that it is wonderful.”
According to Dr Priyanka Mahajan, a psychiatrist at Masina Hospital, “Everyone is in dilemma at some point of a time. Through this app, a person can reduce his stress. To make India stress-free, this step taken by the central government is vital. But, only few people know about this app. So, awareness should be created regarding the same.”
