Mumbai: ‘SKILL LAB’ to help boost innovation skills in MBBS students

The ‘SKILL LAB’ to be inaugurated on September 05, it will give a wide range of scope to the MBBS students to apply their innovative skills

  • The lab will be called as ‘Medical innovative creative and entrepreneurship lab.’
  • The aim is to give MBBS student a chance to develop their innovative skills and develop a new technology which will boost the healthcare industry.

While speaking to My Medical Mantra, Dr Mukund Tayde, Acting Dean of state-run Sir JJ Group of Hospitals said, “Everyday, we are witnessing a new technology that has been developed worldwide. India is a youth nation, so we can also try and develop a new technology. With this lab, we are trying to promote the MBBS students to think something creative and innovative.”

Dr Sarala Menon, Associate Professor of the Microbiology department said, “MBBs students after doing hours and hours of studies need a break. This lab will help boost their innovative skills, thinking and imagination ability. Dr Malpani has given Rs 25 lakhs to construct the lab and will give Rs 10 lakhs financial assistance every year.”

Dr Menon further added, “This lab will be separate and will not have an effect on the academic performance. A student who desires to work here can come and try their abilities. We have appointed 7-8 students as brand ambassadors so that more students can be drawn towards this.”
