Mumbai: Sachin Tendulkar ‘bats’ for cleanliness

God of cricket Sachin Tendulkar will now give cleanliness lessons to Mumbaikars. An NGO Apnalaya, has initiated ‘Mission 24’ campaign with Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). Under the campaign, basic amenities will be provided to the people of M-East ward in Mumbai.

On Tuesday morning, Sachin Tendulkar met municipal commissioner Ajoy Mehta. After the meeting, information was given about ‘Mission 24’ campaign.

While speaking to the press, Sachin said, “Everyone should throw garbage in the bin. We even tend to throw garbage on the road. But why do you do that? We can even throw it, once we are back at home. Waste management is the responsibility of all. Mumbaikars should pay attention to cleanliness.”

He added, “Before pinpointing others, just have a look at yourself.  Remember, if you point one finger at others, three are pointed towards you.”

BMC will help in ‘Mission 24’ campaign. Under this campaign, the slums in M-East ward will be adopted and will be provided with all the necessary facilities.
