Mumbai: Part of foot over bridge collapses, one passenger injured

A part of a foot overbridge has collapsed near Andheri station, Mumbai, on Tuesday morning. Due to the accident, the western railway services between Bandra to Goregaon has been completely shut down

On Tuesday, around 7.30 AM, a part of a foot overbridge collapsed on the railway tracks near Andheri, Mumbai. Due to this, the suburban railway traffic on the western railway has been affected.
According to the Mumbai Fire Brigade Chief, Prabhat Rahandale, “A part of the foot overbridge has fallen on the railway tracks near Andheri station. Some people are suspected to be trapped inside the debris. The search and rescue operation is in progress.”
While speaking to the press BJP MP Kirit Somaiya said, “The railway and fire brigade officers have told me that one person has been trapped under the debris. He is alive and the fire brigade team is sure about saving his life.”
