Today, Kasliwal family participated in the Mumbai Marathon, to create awareness regarding organ donation. Yes! You heard it right!

  • There are millions of people in this country who need an organ for survival. If they get an organ, they can get a new life. Each year, hundreds of people die while waiting for an organ transplant. There is a shortage of organs, and the gap between the number of organs donated and the number of people waiting for a transplant is getting larger. Owing to which awareness was created regarding organ donation, Kasliwal family from Jalgaon participated in the marathon.
  • By participating in the ‘Dream Run’ the Kasliwal family aimed to create awareness on organ donation amongst the masses.
  • In the October 2017, Sandeep Kasliwal, (51), underwent the liver transplant surgery in Wockhardt Hospital, Mumbai. His wife Manju donated her part of the liver which gave him a new lease of life.

Speaking to My Medical Mantra, Madhu Kasliwal said, “Sandeep wished to participate in the marathon. But, doctors didn’t give the permission owing to his health problems. Our aim is to create awareness regarding organ donation amongst people.”

She added, “I am proud to be an organ donor. Organ donation is the need of the hour. We participated in the marathon by flashing the board of ‘Proud to be organ donor’. Instead of Sanderp my daughter participated in the marathon.
