Mumbai: Leopard attacks 7, caught after 6 hours

Today, at least seven people were injured in an attack by a leopard, which entered a residential area in Nanipada in Mulund East. The injured were rushed to the hospital and were treated immediately

  • After acquiring the information about the leopard entering the locality, the forest officials reached the spot. After 6 hours, the leopard was caught by the forest officials.
  • Out of 7 people who are injured the 3 are being treated at the local hospital. While one is serious and has been shifted to the Sion Hospital and LTMG Medical College.
  • The names of the injured: Balaji Kamte(40), Krishna Pillai (40), Savita Kute (30) and Ganesh Pujari (45).

In a rather shocking and amusing news, the big cat created a sense of fear and paranoia among locals as he sneaked into the residential area.  As per the information from the sources, the leopard sheltered near the water tank of the building’s terrace. This created a sense of fear amongst the locals. But, the forest officials successfully trapped him.

Speaking to My Medical Mantra, corporator Prakash Gangadhare said, “The forest officials have caught him. Seven people have been injured in the leopard attack. Three of them were discharged after seeking the primary treatment. Three are being treated at the local hospital. While one is serious and has been shifted to the Sion Hospital and LTMG Medical College.The patients are seriously injured. On acquiring the information about the incident, the forest officials reached immediately and started the rescue operation.”
