His body has been kept in Bombay Hospital. And he was declared brought dead according to sources

Mumbai: Former Crime branch chief Himanshu Roy commits suicide

Himanshu Roy, Additional Director General (housing) committed suicide at his residence in Worli, Mumbai. It is reported to have occurred at 1:45 pm in Mumbai on Friday. He shot himself using his own service revolver.

Roy was reportedly suffering from a prolonged illness and was going through depression for a while.

Roy had worked as a chief of Mumbai Police Crime Branch and was instrumental behind cracking the IPL betting case in 2013, under Himanshu Roy the crime branch had cracked journalist J Dey murder case. Roy was chief of the Maharashtra anti-terrorist squad as well.

He was an IPS officer from the Maharashtra cadre of 1988 batch and an accomplished police officer with a career spanning 30 years.
