The reason behind his suicide is still unknown. Dr Pranay Jaiswal was a senior medical officer (SMO) at the hospital. His phone was switched off since 8 pm. last night. He had completed his studies in general surgery.

His friends tried their best to get in touch with him. Around 11 am, on November 16,  his body was found at the RMO hostel building. There was an IV syringe lying next to his body.

While speaking to My Medical Mantra, Dr Hemant Deshmukh, dean of KEM Hospital, informed, “Dr Jaiswal was missing since last night. One of his friends came to me and informed me that he did not go to his hostel last night. We tried calling him but got no answer. We searched the entire hospital but did not find him. We then approached the police and asked them to help us find him. They tracked his phone and we found him on the terrace of the hospital. It is a rather unfortunate incident. We have informed his parents.”
