#CSTBridgeCollapse: “I am shattered, but will climb those stairs again”

In a horrific incident which took place on Friday, March 14, a portion of the bridge next to CST station fell down. This incident killed 6 people and injured 31 people. One among the injured is Munilal Jaiswal, although has sustained injuries, he has not let this harrowing incident get the best of him. He is determined to maintain a positive spirit amidst this tragedy. He is shattered by fear, but won’t let fear overcome him

“If I don’t work, what will I eat, and how can I fend for my family? If my work demands, then, I will surely climb the stairs of the same bridge, again and again, no matter what,” says Munilal Jaiswal.

Munilal Jaiswal, a 64-year-old man is one of the Mumbai bridge collapse survivors who has been able to escape with minor injuries. Munilal has been recuperating at Mumbai’s state-run GT hospital.

Munilal who works as a security guard at Anjuman-e-Islam school, opposite CSMT station, was crossing the bridge to resume his duty when the fateful incident took place.

While speaking to My Medical Mantra, Munilal says, “I am shattered but, the fear cannot take control over me. I will surely climb the stairs and cross over to the other side to CSMT station if the situation demands it.”

Munilal has suffered an injury on his forehead and one of his fingers has also been fractured. Munilal, who hails from Uttar Pradesh, stays with his son in Mumbai.
