- A boat has been submerged during Lalbaug Cha Raja Ganpati immersion in Back Bay, at Mumbai’s Girgaon Chowpatty,
- Five people who were on board have been rescued and admitted to Mumbai’s Nair hospital
The incident happened on Monday morning, September 24, where a boat with 5 devotees who were on board turned turtle and submerged into the Arabian sea. But, immediately people who were on the other boat jumped into the sea and rescued 5 people.

While speaking to My Medical Mantra, Dr Ramesh Bharmal, Dean of Nair hospital said, “In Total, five people have suffered injuries. Women and a 5-year-old child has been suffering from breathlessness and a 32-year-old man has suffered leg injuries. A man in his mid-twenties has suffered a neck injury and is being treated in the hospital. All the devotees are out of danger.”
Tanaji Kamble, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said, “The incident happened on the early morning of September 24. One of the boats suddenly tilted and got submerged in the sea. People on the other boats immediately jumped into the sea and rescued 5 people. They have been taken to Nair hospital for further treatment.”
