Mumbai: 17 Byculla inmates still under treatment at JJ Hospital

From the 87 prisoners who have been admitted to the hospital, 79 were discharged on Saturday. At the moment, there are 17 prisoners who are still being treated at the hospital, for issues related to food poisoning

While speaking to My Medical Mantra, Mukund Tayde, Acting dean of Sir J.J. Group of Hospitals, said, “In total, there are 17 inmates who are being treated at the hospital among them, there are 13 female inmates, 2 male inmates and 2 children. One of the male inmates, is in the ICU, he is responding well to treatment. We are considering whether or not to shift him to Kasturba Hospital for further treatment.”

On Friday, 20 July right after having their morning breakfast, the prisoners complained of stomach ache and vomiting and were immediately taken to JJ Hospital.
