- Maharashtra University of Health Sciences in Nashik has begun admission process for homeopathy doctors to study modern pharmacology.
- The bride course for the AYUSH doctors was the main point of acrimony between the Allopathy doctors the Health Ministry.
- The Indian Medical Association had opposed the cross-pathy issue in the National Medical Commission (NMC) Bill.
While speaking Dr Dilip Mhaiskar, Vice-Chancellor of the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences said, “The candidates who are applying for the course of Modern Pharmacology, should be registered with the Maharashtra Homeopathy Council. The candidates should file an online form for the same.”
Dr Kalidas Chavan, register of the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences said, “As per the Maharashtra Homeopathy Council, the admission process for the year 2018-19, has begun for the first 40,000 doctors who are registered under Maharashtra Homeopathy Council. This course is for one year.”
The candidates who are applying for this course have been asked to give preference from the 24 colleges listed by the MUHS.
The doctors from Indian Medical Association had vehemently opposed the introduction of bridge course for the Ayush doctors in the National Medical Commission Bill. Bridge course was the main point of animosity between the allopathy doctors and the Union Health Ministry.
Later, budging under the pressure of the allopathy doctors, the Health Ministry had withdrawn the bridge course from the NMC Bill. But, it had given the right to individual state government to decide on the future of bridge course.
