- Sridevi’s body was kept at Celebration Sports Club in Lokhandwala near her home for people to pay their last respects from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm on Wednesday before was taken for cremation.
- Sridevi’s final journey began, with a decorated truck carrying the iconic actor’s mortal remains to the Vile Parle Seva Samaj Crematorium and Hindu Cemetery, where the final rites and cremation took place. Mortal remains of Sridevi wrapped in tricolour, accorded state honours.
Thousands of teary-eyed fans carrying flowers and chanting prayers walked along as superstar Sridevi’s body, draped in the national flag, was taken out in a procession towards the crematorium.
Boney Kapoor performed the last rites at the funeral. The Kapoor family and Bollywood stars paid their last respect to the actor.
Sridevi, 54, died in a hotel room in Dubai on Saturday. A forensic report said she accidentally drowned in a bathtub after falling unconscious. After investigations, the actor’s body was released by the Dubai authorities on Tuesday and was flown to Mumbai by private jet.
