Dr O. P. Kapoor is an eminent physician and a gifted teacher who is well known for his marathon lectures for the final year MBBS students from medical colleges of Mumbai. On this special occasion, his ex-students arranged a function, during which he was felicitated by Hemant Nagrale, Commissioner of Police, Navi Mumbai. Hemant Nagrale unveiled Dr O.P. Kapoor’s book on Family Medical Guide Part 2 in Hindi.

He was a professor of Medicine and Hon. Physician at the Grant Medical College and Sir J.J. Group of Hospitals. His marathon teaching sessions are exceptional. Now, he is 85-years-old and still conducts lectures for 1,200 family physicians and final year MBBS students from medical colleges of Mumbai, which are delivered at Birla Matoshri Sabhagar, on Sundays, for six hours.

After the felicitation Dr O.P. Kapoor expressed his will to continue teaching to medical students and professional doctors as long as he can. “I will find ways to keep teaching,” he informed.

While narrating the fond memories of Dr. O.P. Kapoor’s marathon lectures, his ex-student Dr Deepak Jumani, Consultant Sexologist at Maharashtra Police Hospital and who coordinated the felicitation program said, “After attending sir’s lectures we didn’t need any other teacher. His lectures are a combination of both, theory and practical and this makes him a unique teacher. His lectures on ECG and X-Rays were popular. He also taught us the right ways to communicate with the patients. He is a role model for many of us.”
