- The Maharashtra Governor C Vidyasagar Rao and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday, August 07, inaugurated International Education Centre in Mumbai.
- The Maharashtra government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with 41 foreign universities and Trusts, in order to boost medical education and training.
With an aim to emerge as globally renowned International Hub in health education, the Maharashtra government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU’s) with 41 leading universities around the globe.
The International Education Hub will be established by the Maharashtra University of Health Science, and will exclusively cater to the health science education and research.
The Maharashtra government has set a goal to achieve distinctive high-quality teaching, training and research experience through this hub.
While speaking at the event Maharashtra Governor C Vidyasagar Rao said, “India and the state of Maharashtra require specialised trained doctors. Through whom quality healthcare services can be provided to the people living in the rural areas. International Education Centre established by Maharashtra Health Science University will play a pivotal role in this.”
Governor C Vidyasagar Rao added further, “Indian doctors are known worldwide for their skill and knowledge. Indian doctors are providing medical care to people abroad. Now the time has come where Indian universities should attract the foreign students. For this, they should create a modern education system.”
While Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, “The International Education Centre has been established acknowledging the importance of research oriented education. This will definitely benefit people in India and also those who come from abroad.”
While speaking to My Medical Mantra, Girish Mahajan, Medical Education Minister, Maharashtra, said, “Our mission is to emerge as a renowned international hub for creating and disseminating knowledge and to provide national, international students and faculties, a unique, holistic learning experience. It will involve various disciplines in the field of health science for excellence in innovation, education, and research. With this, we can best serve the man kind. Distinguished through collaboration, leadership, and respect.”

The government aims to establish educational, research, and training centers of excellence to provide professional distinction in health science, through national and international collaborations, for the benefit of humanity.
