  • Recently the Union government has given 50 crores financial aid to the state government.
  • In the year 2017, the union government had approved the National Mission for the AYUSH Ministry.

While speaking to My Medical Mantra, Dr Umesh Tagde, Assistant Director, National Health Mission, and programme head of Mission AYUSH said, “We have split the Nation Mission for Ayush into four parts. First is Ayush treatments, second is opening AYUSH colleges, then comes the drug quality control and we also encourage farmers to cultivate herbal plants.”

Dr Tagde further added, “The government is taking steps to spread awareness about Ayurvedic medicines. But, there is a scarcity of herbal plants for manufacturing Ayurvedic drugs. Under this mission, our main aim is to encourage farmers to cultivate herbal plants.”
