Maha witness gastro outbreak in 20 areas, 10 deaths due to swine flu

According to Maharashtra government, 20 places in Maharashtra have reported gastro outbreak and the state government has ordered an investigation of the water samples in the rural areas

  • Till now Maharashtra has witnessed 6 deaths due to dengue, and 2,194 case of dengue across the state have been reported.
  • 10 people in the state have lost their lives due to swine flu, and overall 42 have been suffered due to it.
  • Out of 136 people who have been suffering from leptospirosis, and 7 have succumbed to the illness.

In order to curb the outbreak of gastro in Maharashtra Health Minister has ordered an investigation of the water samples in the rural areas. Dr Deepak Sawant, Health Minister of Maharashtra has held a meeting with the officers on Wednesday, August 08.

While speaking to the press Dr Deepak Sawant said, “Till now the state has administered swine flu vaccine to 1.28 lakh people. We have already started a dengue awareness drive in the schools and it will continue till August 15.”
