Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated that the government wants to implement both healthcare schemes. So as to provide financial assistance for the maximum number of people.
The Maharashtra government will take criminal action against those who will misuse the healthcare scheme.
The chief minister informed the Maharashtra assembly during the question hour on Monday, July 09. Until now, 8 states and 4 Union Territories have signed the MOU with the union government to implement Ayushman Bharat healthcare protection scheme.
While speaking in the Maharashtra assembly CM Devendra Fadnavis said, “State Government is working and studying to develop a via model for Ayushman Bharat a healthcare scheme by union government and state’s Mahatma Phule Jan Arogya Yojana to provide financial assistance to maximum number of people. The state wants to implement both the schemes as it will cover more number of citizens.”
Fadnavis informed the house that, the state has relaxed many norms in Mahatma Phule Jan Arogya Yojana and now a large number of people are availing of its benefits.
CM Fadnavis further added, “The government is trying to increase the participation of more hospitals in the scheme. The government is also working on the possibility of getting the major private hospitals in Mumbai under this scheme. Criminal action would be taken against those, who will misuse the scheme.”
