Maha: Master-blaster Sachin bats for young and healthy Bharat campaign

  • Master-blaster and Bharat Ratna, Sachin Tendulkar, met Maharashtra governor C. Vidyasagar Rao on Thursday, October 4, in Mumbai.
  • Sachin has appealed the state government to include ‘Sports’ as a subject in the curriculum in schools and colleges across the state.
  • The cricket legend has also requested the state government to launch ‘Young and Healthy Bharat’ campaign in all the universities to keep the students healthy and fit.

The master-blaster has requested the government of Maharashtra, to include ‘sports’ as a dedicated subject in the school and the college curriculum. He has also requested that the state should launch Young and Healthy Bharat, campaign in all the universities in the state.

Expressing his views about the Young and Healthy Bharat campaign, Sachin Tendulkar said, “India is a sports-loving nation. But, now it should become the sports playing nation as well. India needs the best coaches who can find the talent and shape the children.”

In the month of May, Sachin had visited Sawitribai Phule University in Pune and has put forth the proposal to launch Young and Healthy Bharat campaign.
