Maha: 81 bogus doctors nabbed in three months

The number of bogus doctors in the state has gone up. The checking carried out in the 37,000 and 68 hospitals. Amongst which, 6,742 have not abided by the laws

From March 15 to May 31, the health department had conducted a checking in the hospitals across the state. In which, 81 bogus doctors were found. Amongst which, an FIR is registered on 20 doctors. This information was given by Dr Deepak Sawant, the state health minister in the Maharashtra assembly.

Medha Kulkarni, BJP MLA, had raised this question of checking of the hospitals in the Maharashtra assembly. Answering to which, health minister said that 2,084 Medical institutions were found to have not followed the Maharashtra Pollution Control Act.

169 medical institutions have been fined.  27 clinics have been closed. Four centres were closed for violation of the Medical Termination Of Pregnancy Act, 1971. 5 sonography machines have been sealed for violating PCPNDT act.
