A massive explosion took place near the ordinance deport in Wardha, on Tuesday morning, November 20. According to the officials, the explosion occurred while defusing the bombs and the scrap material.
The explosion took place while unloading the ammunition for the disposal, a defense spokesperson said.
While speaking to My Medical Mantra, KMM Prasanna, IG, Nagpur Range said, “6 people have died and 10 others have been injured in the blast. Out of which 4 people have suffered severe injuries and currently undergoing treatment at the hospital in Sawnagi, Wardha.”
The injured have been rushed to Acharya Vinoba Bhave Rural Hospital, Sawangi, Wardha.
While speaking to My Medical Mantra, Dr Uday Meghe, OSD, of Sawangi hospital said, “Around 7,45 AM on Tuesday morning, the injured victims were brought to the hospital. 4 people have suffered from serious injuries and require emergency surgery.”
The explosion took place in an open area, and around 15-20 labours in the vicinity were injured in the blast while they were unloading the ammunition.
