Doctor creates music album to spread awareness on organ donation

There are millions of people in this country who need an organ for survival. If they get an organ, they can get a new life. Each year, hundreds of people die while waiting for an organ transplant. There is a shortage of organs, and the gap between the number of organs donated and the number of people waiting for a transplant is getting larger. Owing to which, a doctor has launched a music album titled - ‘Ungadaan Mahadaan’

Organ donation is the need of the hour. So, with an aim to spread awareness regarding organ donation, a music album ‘Ungadaan Mahadaan’ has been launched. Dr Vijay Bhave, a paediatrician from Mumbai has written songs of this music album.

The music album is in Hindi and is available on YouTube. The album is getting an overwhelming response and more than 16,000 people have watched it.

Speaking to My Medical Mantra, Dr Vijay Bhave, a paediatrician from Mumbai said, “Changing lifestyle results in the failure of organ. The number of people awaiting organs is increasing. And the number of donor is less. This music album appeals people to  be aware and save lives by donating organ.”

In India, only 0.58 per million people donate organs. As compared to the demand, the supply of the organs is less. The Union Health Ministry also admitted that in India, there is an acute shortage of the organ donors. The Union and the state governments are making efforts to spread awareness about the noble cause.
