The legendary Indian batsman took to Instagram and nominated people to play their favourite sport and share a video of the same on the social networking website.

In this video, Sachin says, “Bachpan se main har ek sports khelna enjoy karta aya hun, khaas karke cricket. Aur main aapko itna hi kehna chahunga ki yeh fitness challenge ka extension hai. (I have enjoyed playing all the sports since a young age, especially cricket. This challenge is an extension of the fitness challenge).”

“I’m kitting up to go play the sport that I love. Share a video of you playing the sport that you love,” his Instagram post read.

Sachin has nominated other Indian athletes like Sardar Singh, PV Sindhu, Virat Kohli, Mithali Raj, Vijender Singh and Kidambi Srikanth for the challenge. “All I want to say is stay fit,” he said in the video.

The master blasters message is an important one, especially in today’s times, when children do not spend enough time playing outdoors, due to academic stress or the use of smartphone.

Childhood obesity is on the rise across the country and when these kids transition into adulthood, they face a major risk of developing lifestyle diseases such as hypertension and diabetes. A lack of exercise can also put a strain on their hearts and make them prone to heart attacks.

Hence, it is important to take up sports or any physical activity which one enjoys in order to stay fit and healthy.
