If you are denied treatment, contact us, says CM Fadnavis

If the patient is denied treatment due to the lack of money, contact us, said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. CM also said that, facilities for poor patients are provided by the Health Minister department and Mahatma Phule Jeevandayi Arogya Yojana. The cancer patients will also be provided facilities through these schemes


CM Fadnavis did the bhoomi pujan of  Khandesh Cancer Centre and inaugurated Ram surgical maternity Hospital. CM Fadnavis said, “After Uttar Pradesh, the highest percentage of cancer patients is being detected in Maharashtra and it is a matter of concern. The patients as well as his family, both suffer. To provide good facilities to the patients, like Khandesh Cancer Centre many centres will be established at different districts.”

Girish Mahajan, Medical Education Minister said, “Tobacco and gutka invites cancer invocation. It is better to take prevention. At Khandesh Cancer Centre, treatment will be given at an affordable cost.”

Dr Subhash Bhamre, Union minister of State for Defence said, “I left Mumbai, 30 years ago, and started treating patients in Dhule. Now, my son also treats the patients. Treatment for cancer patients is expensive and of long-term. Therefore, awareness about cancer should increase. The efforts will be made through the cancer centre.”

Dr Kailash Sharma, Director-Academics, Tata Memorial Centre said, “The number of cancer patients is increasing in the state. Though, the Tata Memorial Centre is like a hope for them. Still, the patients and the relatives have to suffer. So, Khandesh Cancer Centre will be helpful. Tata Memorial atomic energy department will also help in this.”
